Just wondering if anyone here enjoys a quality brew.  I'm on quite the sout kick as of late, it being winter and what not. Bell's Special Double Cream Stout and Left Hand Milk Stout nitro are probably my favorite as of right now.  My go to is the always delicious Sierra Nevada Kellerweis or their Pale Ale.  Anyone else?  <beer>

Spaten Optimizer is my choice, if I have the choice of anything.  Over 600 years of brewing beer has done them well.

I grew up on Leinenkugel's in Wisconsin.  They're from my home town.  Even went to school with one of the Grandson's.  They have the standards but now added special brews as well.  However, now, if I buy beer for the house, I pick up Blue Moon..  I really enjoy that.

St. Arnold's brewery in Houston. Lawnmower and their brown ale are my favorite, but they are all good, including the root beer.

Yuengling is my favorite but can't get it in Oklahoma. Have to ask  my family members from the east coast to bring it to me when they travel through the state.

Yup, I like the Leinenkugels also. Shiner Bock is a good ol fallback. I have not tried most of the others, but would like to. Not a big fan of the Sierra Nevada's.

The one thing we get in California (especially So-Cal) is Micro Brews, and some real good ones. Friend of ours makes some really good beers, he has even won a few competitions, he does not sell it, just makes it for himself and friends. He brings mini kegs to our cookouts all the time, I can't tell if there are more people at the food table or the kegs. Good beer, just can't drink to many, it is not like silver bullets.

I'd love to go to San Diego or Chico for a week or two.  I'd be in beer heaven!

Fat Tire, of New Belgium Brewing. They also make a wonderful IPA, Ranger.

My favorite New Holland beer is definitely The Poet.  Bell's is by far my favorite Michigan brewery though.

i went to england once for two weeks just to drink beer at all the brewery's and pubs.  didn't have scotch.

i liked sam smith porter and their stout. over there, their stout is a little different, less hoppy.

like makeson's triple xxx stout (it's hard to find), which is a milk sugar stout, guiness of course.

one reason people used to like buying makesons was because the glass was thick so they could be used for home brewing.  alas, they aren't as thick anymore.

i like belgian porters.

not real fond of the recent trend towards more hoppiness like indian pale ales or imperial beers.

these had extra hops as a preservative so that the beer could withstand shipping from england to russia for the imperials and india.  by that time maybe they aren't so harsh.

Knabe, that Mackeson is the beer that is the inspiration for Left Hand Milk Stout (among others) that I'm very very fond of.  I'd really like to get some, but I don't think they distribute around here.  My local grocery store just got their first shipment of Bell's in today.  They also carry four Sierra Nevada beers regularly, as well as three Spaten varieties, three or four Brau Bros types (their Milk/Oatmeal Stout is wonderful). They also have the usual "craft" line up of Leine's, Blue Moon, and Shock top, but I tend to steer clear of those as they're owned by macros.

I used to not really like the IPA's, but recently i've developed a taste for some of them. I don't like the extreme ones like DIPA's (yet).  The IPA's started so the beer would keep fresh, but in the last 20 years or so, lots of experimentation with different hops has yielded many different flavors and layers of complexity that I can definitely admire.

I would definitely be willing to send some harder to get Midwest beers out to you west coasters in exchange for some of the rare deliciousness that that far shore has to offer.

Samuel Smiths oatmeal stout is a favorite of mine especially if you do enjoy stouts.  The also make a winterfest that is interesting.  Enjoy many home brews also.  Have mad a cherry fever stout that was really good.
