Our cooler room is nothing fancy, but it has about 3-4 inches of spray foam and a dirt floor and is 10'x10' with an 18,000 btu AC unit wired for 220 v.  I try to keep it in the 50s temp wise with the Coolbot, which is about all I can get the AC to do, and I don't want to shock the calves when they have to go to a show in 85-95 degree weather all day.  I figure it costs maybe $40-50 a month extra on the electric bill, but hard to tell since we are pumping the well quite a bit more in the summer to rinse cattle, water yard, etc., and run blowers and fans, all of which is the same time we are using the cooler.

GoWyo - our cool room isn't anything fancy either. How many calves do you have in your 10 x 10 room?

It fits 2 head with a single fan mounted above the AC unit.  Would be nice to be at least 12 feet deep, but it does the job and I don't have that much money wrapped up in it.

It probably needs to be wired for 220 volt at the panel and 10 gauge wire into your big 3-prong outlet.

Yep. Luckily we have a friend that's an electrician. He will be coming out within the next few days. Luckily it's going to be cooler this week.

Well we got an 18500 btu AC and wired it up. That did the trick. It's been in the low 50's easy. Thanks for all of the advice and help! Now it's time to grow some hair!!
