Yes, we watched Dr Pol last weekend and again last night.  Very interesting and I could tell he knew what he was doing, at least on the cattle stuff.  Thought it was odd that he didn't drive a pickup with a cooler in the back.  Well worth watching. Great country vet and pretty good shot!

Yeah, it cracks me up to see him driving a cherokee, he must not work a ton of cattle.  I just don't see how you could get away with not having a vet bed if you run a lot of cattle.

Lindsey, would be very interested in hearing your reactions after you watch it.  I would like to know if the show is pretty true to form.  I was big into gold rush but have gotten very jaded about it after reading infomation on the web concerning the show.  most specifically that the gold rush people are being paid.

Yes the show isnt planned or anything if thats what you mean. I was driving by our amish neighbors when there were filming. He is an expensive vet but very honest Ive taken my dogs horses sheep and cattle and even my hamster and guinea pig to him. If you have any questions about him concerning what kind of vet he is or anything im she i could help :D

Glad to hear, seems like a super nice guy on tv.  I have kinda lost faith in reality tv being that alot of them get paid.

We dvr the show and love it.  Sure hope they make some more episodes.  I was totally suprised that they don't sugar coat every little thing for the bleeding hearts.

Called The Incredible Dr. Poe as in on National Geographic channels.  It was on last night, deals with a lot of cattle, horses, and small animals.

Watched a couple of episodes recently, on a rainy weekend afternoon, and as a veterinarian with over 25 years' experience, all I can say is OMG - I can't believe that even NatGeo would put such an outdated, incompetent old codger forward as being representative of the veterinary profession - and I'm something of a 'dinosaur', myself. I don't find it funny - I find it to be appalling!
He comes off as a 'folksy' old quack who's not kept up with any of the advancements that have been made in veterinary medicine in the past 50 years.  Is that the case, or is it just the segments the producers choose to shoot?  I don't know, but it is NOT an accurate representation of the current state of veterinary practice.  If that's the way he really is, he needs to retire, or at least attend some continuing education conferences.  Everything I saw was the epitome of substandard care for his patients; his practices may have been acceptable in the 1950s, but not in the 21st Century.

I'm given to understand that the state veterinary licensing board in his state has found Dr. Pol and 2 of his 3 associates guilty of incompetence and negligence to their clients and patients.
There is a move afoot, initiated by concerned veterinarians, to have NatGeo cancel this show.  So...if you really like it, you may want to watch it before it disappears - but I'd recommend against it.  There is nothing 'incredible' about Dr. Pol.
