I tried it on an Alias heifer at the Royal...worked ok.  I think you'd get the same results fogging alcohol on your calf, plus it would be alot cheaper.

do you have to fog it or can you spray it? How does vinigar straighten hair? Shes a hereford and her winter hair is going nuts.

I have used a product called Cholesteral for ethnic hair. Comes in big tub and is cheap. Looks like Crisco. Take a few tablepoons and mix in spray bottle with hot water. Spray after rinsing and brush in. It will soften and relax hair. But once the hair starts to straighten stop. It can make hair to soft. If you have a curly one- sometimes Kadabara will throw that hair- you can brush it in every other day then couple times a week once its relaxed.Make sure to blow the calf out after brushing. Also helps straighten hair.

Mix the vinegar and conditioner and either spray or fog it on, then brush it in and dry. The vinegar lifts any scurf, and then mixed with conditioner makes a thinner liquid to fog with. I'm not sure why it works, but it works. If you're working the animal's hair everyday it's just another step you add in. I swear by it.

ETA- Plus it's cheap!!

I haven't ever tried it but I read somewhere that a 50/50 mixture of absorbine and downy would work.  Any one ever tried this?
