nope.  i cook them and don't eat raw eggs as i don't eat caesar salad, raw cookie dough and don't eat eggs sunnyside up.

that said, 35,000 people die every year from car accidents and the USDA hasn't recalled drivers.

the risk is low, the action is high, which is great for job security.

on the other hand, there should be some epidemiology.

perhaps outlaw mice?

That Knabe... although I don't always fully understand all your posts.... I do believe you're a WISE fellow.
My thinking exactly.

Farm is in central Iowa. Owned and operated by a habitual offender/violator of both animal and evironmental issues. Denied several times to expand.

That being said:  I don't eat eggs plain.  But I do eat raw cookie dough by the spoonfu  (maybe handful)l. I enjoy licking the spoon when making cake batter.  Haven't died yet (much to the dismay of several on here  ;D)

The minute I heard the egg recall on the news I called it bogus...I personally think its the egg producers trying to get prices to go up or something.  Media drives the market in every field, they are quick to do these recalls and all but they fail to educate people...You would be hard pressed to find ANY poulty farm anywhere that doesnt have salmonela of some type. Almost all poultry has it, which is why the public should be educated in this matter so as to stress the importance of NEVER eating undercooked or raw poultry, including eggs!

The news has been saying eastern Iowa. Galt, Iowa is the closest town. Must be a small town.

that's pretty funny.  same here.  someone from marketing at work i sell eggs to asked if i was capitalizing on the recall.  i said no, i needed a capital infusion.

then there's the issue of GMO grain.  mine are free range with free choice grain.  they like larvae of all types.  i like watching one of my roosters with 10 or so hens following him while he scratches the ground for them.  he also tilts his head watching for hawks.

by the way, i keep my roosters together, as they don't fight.  yes, i cull the one's that do, which, admittedly could be a bad thing.

My kids sell eggs for their 4-H project, and we can not keep enough for us to eat! However, we do eat them over easy, or any other way. Have done this since I was a kid and never got sick! The "yokier" the better in our opinion  ;)
I do not think it is a media hype, since it only helps the organic farmer or little people like us.
I am cooking eggs as I type for breakfast, along with home hash browns (from our garden potatoes) and onions, and some yummy bacon!  ;D

Those of you selling eggs... be careful... if you sell too many (and yes, uncle sam is watching) you will be required to get a permit and be an inspected site.

yup.  thing is though, one can change uncle sam by voting.  it's amazing the institutional inertia one acquires when elected to office.

people must not be allowed to make transactions between each other.

what's really frustrating is that uncle sam seems more concerned with american citizens and compliance than they do illegal aliens (of all types, not just latino's, and by this i mean to include visa overstays etc).  doubly frustrating is that people won't vote for someone to represent them.

it's amazing how really simple it is.  vote for someone who will roll back some, but not all bureaucracy.
