Have you all called your Representative and tell them to vote NO (in my opinion) on the Stimulus Package today?  If you want them to vote Yes please ignore this message  ;)

been doing this since the first bailout.

if you look at the bill itself, less than 10% of the money is actually infrastructure money, which, SHOULDN'T go to professional white males.

this basically is the largest tax increase and inflation increase in the history of the world, and basically doubles the debt.

it is my view that it should pass as it will allow a quicker time for progressive policy to fail.

both republicans and democrats should be turned out at the midterm elections.  these people are fools, but we are even bigger fools.

this mess won't end with the pen, but the sword.

Your are very right Knabe.  It is somewhat our fault for letting these people in there in the first place.  Ofcourse some of them cheat to get there anyways and it wouldn't matter what we voted.

The only option we have left is to call them and bug the crap out of them.  Even then they are probably going to only do what will help their own policial career.  We also need to communicate with our local and state elected officials more.

As a parent is scares me to think of what this country is going to end up like for my kids and grandkids.  It burns me up that our congressmen and women don't care, they are only worried about their personal careers.

Looks like Acorn is in line for some money and they are still being indicted for voter fraud.  Sounds like Obama is building a voter base with our tax dollars. Amazing!

I think all Republicans voting in the House yesterday voted no on the bill, but what do you know the Democrats have majority so it passed anyway. This is what America wanted though ? I'm glad  Boehner  is finally getting in gear and showing some resistance.

All republicans voted no and 15 democrats as well.  So I guess that should say something.  It still passed however.  There is enough money in that bill to fill every Americans car full of gas for 5 years.  There is enough money in the bill to give each mortgage holder $17000.00.  And there is some really stupid spending in there.  My biggest concern is who is going to pay all this money back?  Our kids and grand kids (for folks my age) .  I fear our country is rapidly moving towards the end.  I hate to be negative, but I fear that is where we are headed.  Can someone explain to me why the private sector loss jobs last year but government grew jobs last year?  And does anyone think that is a good sign for our country?

Now you need to contact your senators and tell them to vote NO!

not enough spending in the package for the repubs?    and they dont like the middle class tax cut?    ???  the next 2 yrs are going to be quite interesting....maybe the dems can satisy the senate repubs...with a little less of a tax cut and some more spending.. ???  that shouldnt be a problem.....    without leadership in the repub party....they will get nothing....and the repubs  will "never" be able to  be represented as long as there platfrom is represented only on cattle boards and barber shops.......when you call your repub. senate rep, ....ask "them"  if  they are interested in stepping up ( and maybe ask them  what there cause is now)or just wait till next month when you get another haircut, and get caught up then....  jbarl

correct.  they thought they could buy votes rather than have any principle.

you can't ever out principle your opponent with their principles.

still trying to figure out the differnce between blago and the bailout bill.

everything is pay to play.  the bailout bill is 95, if not 100% money for government itself.

how can the government bail out itself without printing money and without devaluing the money you already have?

Should you call it a tax cut if those people don't pay any taxes as it is? Not enough spending for the GOP  ???

FYI those of you who have cattle- Part of that bill is to buy old dairy cows to pull them out of production, reducing the lbs of raw milk produced, to raise the price or the raw milk so dairy farmers will make more $$.  What do you suppose they plan to do with those old dairy cows?  Flood the beef market with them?  What is that going to do to beef prices?

Why do they need millions of dollars to study african honey bees?

Why do they need money to put sod on the mall- what is that going to do for the economy other then help a sod farmer and someone who lays the sod?

There isn't enough spending in there for the republicans- your right.  However the spending they want is the people who pay taxes (ie business owners) to keep some of that  tax money and spend it and create new jobs and put that money back into the economy.  Not forcing that money to be used to buy sod for washington.

Here in Ohio and I know around the country our honey bees are disappearing at an alarming rate. No one can seem to figure out where they are going or what is happening to them. You don't realize how important they are, but they are very important in to ag community. Theory of rare strains of a bacteria that has infected some hives. Africanized bees taking over and whiping out domestic. If we dont have pollination we won't have production of some fruits and vegetables. I have been following this story because we had a hive colonize the side of our house. We called Ohio State university and they are going to help us move them in the spring.

ob...i watched a show on rfd a few months ago, and have read a few other follow ups ( one was in an old progressive farmer issue), and im really curious what osu has to say.  i'm sure they can get them from your house, but im curious to know if they know were theve gone....NONE of the experts can explain there " where abouts" or if they are even alive or not....but ALL agree it is the most dangerous directions agricuture has taken in our life time...of all the areas of  science/inovation/and agriculture that we  have advanced in over time..there is NOTHING  presently that can duplicate or replace the the natural actions of the bees....not only could this be a seperate topic....it could be the front page of of every newspaper/magazine/ and science publication soon to come.......we can make a bee size robot....looks like a bee....flys like a bee...even make it sting like a bee...but we cant make it " work like a bee".....kinda curious what some of our  resident  ag/ genetics/ and science experts  here have to  say about this as well.....sorry to kidnap the topic...........thanks   jbarl

Ash bore is killing the Ash trees, Bees are disappearing, the earth is cooling/warming depending on who you talk to..yes there are some major issues going on and I live in OH to and we used to have honey bees in our orchard too.  But do you think when our forefathers sat down to creat the principals of this great country that they intended for our federal government to take money away from us to study honey bees?  I am not being a smart butt here.  I am just trying to show you the way I look at things.  Right or wrong.  We can study honey bees until we are blue in the face but if they are going to dissapear they are going to dissapear.  Another case and point.  All these "green" people are bumping their gums about wind energy.  We are currently trying to get 1 or 2 windmills put on one of our farms.  The county that this particular farm is in has some type of bat that I guess is indangered.  So last fall people put it on the ballot to ban windmills from the northern part of the county because of fears they would hurt the bat population.  The bats are already indangerd, it is not the windmills that are causing it.  We can not bend over backwards for stuff like this.  Don't get me wrong guys, I am an animal person not some crazy grouch.  But we have to start letting things fail that are going to fail and quit trying to save them.  The same goes for business too.  If Circuit City is going bankrupt, then they were doing something wrong.  Customer service was poor, management was poor, they built stores in the wrong part of town, etc.  If we give them money it is just delaying the process.
