I mentioned this bull in another post as a possible bull to breed to a sim/angus heifer we have.  Kids really want to get some roan color if possible.  Has anyone used this bull?  Any thoughts?

If blue roan is the priority and the SimAngus heifer is black, go with a white Shorthorn bull.  That way you'd be guaranteed a blue roan as opposed to a 50/50 shot with an actual blue roan bull.

structure is an issue with him also if you are trying to grow hair he won't help you with that. he isn't soft enough causing is structure being be even worse. to harsh appearing. overall i would use something  neater made and sounder like boardwalk if you wanted a clubby bull but  idk what breed you want but there are better rone  bulls out there if you look hard enough

Spoke to Joe Capral, part owner of this bull today.  He said he is a heifer bull with most BW in the 65-high 70 lb range.  He is known for producing females, but has had many county fair winner steers as shown on his site (Bar C4 show cattle).  He is 10-12 years old now and he recommends BC4 Blue Ice's son 8 Below which is out of a Myers cow x Blue Ice.  He is also blue roan with a lot more chrome on him.
So someone mentioned way better roan colored throwing bulls.  Can I get some names to start researching? My family is new to this AI game and it's been fun researching.  But it seems no matter what bull we find, there are lots of people who say they are the next big thing and lots of people who say they are worthless.  Specific heifer we really want to breed is a Sim/Angus cross.  As I mentioned before, my kids really want a few blue roan calves this spring and as long as it wont kill the cows, I'm open to anything.  Shorthorn, Angus, Simmi, composite, we don't care.
Thanks for the input

OK, so now we are looking at Rainmaker and Young Money.  What do people think of them.  I'm not getting the best comments on Blue Ice.
