You PPL that are going to Denver, be careful what you bring back home to your loved ones!! Just read that Denver is ranked 4th worst by Orkin and 6th worst by Terminix for infestation of Bedbugs. Looked like those from Ohio may have a hand up on how to deal with them according to the poll. Cinci was # 1 and Culumbus not too far behind. Really looked like the whole country is pretty well populated.

According to the national news, there is NOTHING you can do about bed bugs which is really a hard one to swallow.  Guess we should all be trying to invent that product!

Problem is that the EPA outlawed any chemicals that were strong enough to do anything.

On a side note, SD., it sure is great to have you back on this forum. I have missed you. Cab.

Ok, I do not really fit everybody else's situation.   I live at 7300 feet and it is always cold at night.   Cockroaches do not survive here.   I have a huge phobia of bringing home bugs in my luggage from traveling all over, (especially warmer climates!)  Always freaked about finding roaches in my dirty clothes from being in a hotel room for a week!

This has worked for over 20 years of my phobia.....

I NEVER bring my suit cases in the house when I get home.  I usually leave the bags outside overnight. I sort my laundry on my back outside porch.  I bring one load of laundry in at a time and they immediately go into a hot washer.  If I am using a duffel style bag, I wash that too.

I had an acqaintance that got bed bugs at the Colorado State Fair....and trust me, you will know if you have them.  They are blood suckers.  You will notice some blood on you or the sheets. They are not going to wait around for a ride in your bag.  Bed bugs must have a blood meal and they will take it from you when they can.  It will leave a red itchey spot where they feed.  Read up on it.

You are right on the money with C-bus being up there!  I do a lot of work around the C-bus area, and their are signs up and down every road in front of several business's stating they have a worry free bed-bug killer!  It is a severe problem in Columbus.  I won't goto a movie theatre because of the infestation.  You need to look in the creases of your matresses and on the underside of the pillow.  Had a friend who sleeps with his hand under the pillow, woke up with a bunch of bite marks on his hand and arm.  Word of advice, don't get them.  I hear the only thing that really kills them is UV light......  may have to run yourself and bags through the tanning bed before coming home...  <cowboy>
