Beet pulp or cottonseed hulls

Full Tank isn't available around here it seems, not in a timely manner anyway. Looking for filler for use with 2 heifers and a bull calf while they are at NWSS. My objective is keep manure firm, keep feed intake good, keep them full and with a happy rumen without having to haul a bunch of hay out there.

Would cottonseed hulls work, by adding a couple of handfuls to their ration?
Or is beet pulp the favorite here?

My experience.....don't change the diet if you wanna keep em on feed while traveling..

Thanks for the reply HF Chars. Yeah...I agree with that. Was hoping to start introducing a little now. I think I'm just going to give some added CSH each feeding and that should hopefully keep manure firmed up. Not sure if they will affect fill.

Good advice. Never change anything unless you have 3-4 weeks to settle.

You can buy Ruma-Fil and Full Tank when you get there.  I have never noticed any cattle go off feed when introducing either one and can get it to half the ration in a couple of days to really fill them up.  I have also used these products when trying to get them back on feed after an acidosis event.

Also, if you are on the Hill, they make you buy your hay on the grounds (they will deliver to your stall and it is usually decent hay). 

Thanks for the input everyone. We are in the Yards, try to bring all our own prairie hay needs. From what I read in the archives, all these products like full tank and winning fill (both were recommended by the fitter....or I wouldn't have known they existed) are frequently used as a pre-show and show-only supplement. HAB is going to bring WF for us, so we will give it a go, a couple of handfuls at a time.

I like to keep a bag of winning fill around, but if they get too much of it one time they seem to never want to eat it again.  I always mix it in with their grain ration.
