Has anyone seen an increase in the price of beet pulp in the past week? I went into the feed store last night and it had jumped up to $18.75 a bag.

Anyone have alternatives that work similarly to beet but may have a more manageable price?

40 pound bags. Last year we were paying around $8-9 per bag. Not sure what the reason for the sudden price hike.

Our prices went up last year and the quality went south, when I asked about it they said it was the equipment for the shreds and that pellets hadn't went up as much.  I am paying $19 for 40 # bags but at least lately they are not mostly dust like last year when they were hard to get.  The feed mill has went back to cottonseed hulls lately in some feeds that they were substituting corn cob pellets in last year.  I haven't come up with an alternative but I did feed a set of sale hiefers mostly soyhulls and their high fiber got them full enough.

We use Full Tank and last year the price stayed pretty stable while beet price went up.  It has remained about the same price all year too.  It generally retails anywhere from 15-18 for a 50# bag depending on how much markup or freight is involved.    I haven't seen the October price sheet yet so I may be surprised by a price increase.  Hope not.

$150/ton at the plant.  That will make it come out to $3.75 a bag if you bought by the truck load unbagged.

I am still not happy with the consistency.  Some are great shreds colored a light grey and then some of the bags are really dark and very fine. :(

I buy the pelleted kind and the quality has been quite good and consistent so that sure helps.

Never used "Full Tank" so I'm not even sure if it's available here in Canada.
