What is the best Irish Whiskey son to mate to Angus females........or is the original himself still the best? I want females to make club calves.

Paddy O'malley on angus cows works great. He will add lots of bone, muscle shape, and a good front end. Make sure to use him on more moderate framed cows. I have 4 Paddy x angus cows that are good doing sound cows and work well when I have bred to maines or clubbies. Also have 7 Paddy x Meyer 734 cows that are stout, heavy muslced, big bodied cows that I have had great luck breeding to Heat Wave for steers.

What about GCC Untouchable, Diamond Driver, Whiskey 7, etc. All are old enough to have lots of progeny.

Untouchable looks great but even the owners seem to have left him behind?

Thoughts?

We had several mostly Angus/Maine cows bred to PADDY a couple years ago, very nice heifers out of and several 1st places (one San Antonio), (Kerrville) and Austin that year.
(all of them we kept back, all calved out great).  Several nice  bull calves too.

Bull Barn had the picture of Lautner's Untouchable not the actual IW son...so disregard my comments about him looking great, it was the wrong bull.

In my personal experience, I would use IW himself B4 POM. The IW's are more moderate framed than the POMs and don't carry near as much navel as the POMs. IW are also more consistant @ birth. I think that both will make good females in general, but I just like the IWs a bunch more than the POMs. JMO.

Diamond Driver heifer was second in class at Michigan Winter Beef Show couple weeks ago.  The heifer that beat her went on pretty far but not sure where she ended up in the show.  And the Diamond Driver was still a little green.
