I really need a set of sheepheads and have been looking around. Im looking for something that runs quiet and can be used for multiple hours a day as they will be used for sale clipping and blocking out large numbers of cattle at a time. I want something that is easy to manuever and comfortable in my hands. Please Vote and let me know what is the best in your opinion thank you and have a Merry Christmas!!!

For the head and tail I use the 510 Osters. For the rest of the body I use the Andis 2 speeds. You really cant beat that combo, imo. The 510s aren't the quietest running things, but they are very forgiving on the head especially if there is someone new to clipping. The 2 speeds with the super blocking blades will do pretty much anyting, but are NOT for newbies. Not only can you cut and gouge the cattle, but they cut through human skin also. Be careful. Good luck!!!

Thanks HF, I'm a very experienced clipper. I use the Andis 2 with Xblocks for all my clipping and then normally the xblend or medium blending on the neck. I'm not looking for anything to forgiving more or less looking for durability and comfort and something quite. Have you felt any other sheepheads to compare weight to other brands?

I used a pair of aesculap flatheads on my buddys steer, they were smooth running, quiet, and fairly light. I like them better than my Osters. But they are about double the price of the Osters, but would probaly cut through steel wool lol.

The premier 4000c are great clippers. They are alot lighter than most other sheep heads, and alot quiter and smoother. Because of their light weight they are more balanced in the hand and it doesnt wear you out all day running them.  However, there are time i wish they ran alittle bit faster, but thats geting picky on a set of good clippers.

Coming from someone who shears many sheep, as well as clipping a few cows...

I have done much complaining about Premeier clippers on here in the past...  In short they are wimpy and junk, and I hate my pair...- only good for washed, clean, combed hair/wool...

I love my andis....  couldn't say a bad thing about them, other than they are a tad heavy for some people...  Talk about pure power.

I was talking to a Wahl salesman at NAILE this year, and they have a newer pair of clippers, forgot the name,, they are blue-- that worked real nice for me... Are coming out with a new set of multi head ones with the same motor within the next year...  I am going to buy them..

if you would like more info, pm me.... I shear 600 plus sheep a year- and can tell you the ins and outs of sheep heads.... I always have 2 sets of Andis, and 2 sets of osters with me at all times, as well as my premeirs....  that haven't ever been used much..
