I am going to be driving through Kansas, Nebraska and South Dakota and am shopping for a show heifer for the coming year.  I am wondering where the best places to stop and look at top quality calves are.  I want to make sure I don't miss anyone.

Not sure if you are looking for Club Calf specific calves or some breed specific stuff, but Drew Crawford and Justin Willard are putting a good set together for their fall sale. They are located in Arkansas.

Wow, there are probably 50 places that you could stop.

Is there anything specific about what you are looking for?

Breed?
Registered?
Breeding or Market?
Certain genetics?
Age?
Price Range?

Give a little more information and maybe I can help you.

Check about the map of Northeast Nebraska in the upcoming issue of the Show Circuit. More than 30 breeders in one corner of the state.

Breed? Not too particular, ideally something black or white (smokes are okay too). Reds and painted up ones don't do well where I am at. If a purebred, probably Simmental, char or even a limo if she's good enough.
Registered? Ideally, but I'll look at a good commercial
Breeding or Market? I'm looking for a breeding heifer, but I like my heifers big ribbed, and with some bone and foot size.
Certain genetics? No  preference but I'm not a huge  Laurier lover in the clubby deal
Age? January or February. The younger ones always get passed over in my area.
Price Range? 5-10. But I'm flexible if she's good enough.

Give a little more information and maybe I can help you.

Thank you!

For what you are wanting, my first stop would be Dunk's in Wayne.  His heifers and steers are always in the mix.

Ryan Dunklau, Pat Wiese, Tim Burke, Nate Kolterman, and Cory Miller for Nebraska.

They have some clubby stuff, but a lot of high percentage stuff as well.

For what it is worth, most of these guys are within an hour of each other.  Some are only minutes apart.
