WAGR Dream Catcher is pretty consistent with making baldies.

has a little color.  wouldnt call him a baldy, but he does throw some from what few calves I have seen.  appears to have more to offer than just color and that was the reason we picked up some straws from FB.

rendition would be my choice.. he was raised 'just down the road'-- so i've been around him quite a bit

Backlash and the new Tool bull are whiplash siblings that should work well.  They are Meyer out of a maine and simi angus on the bottom side.  These bulls are not as proven but Whiplash was a clubby mama maker deluxe.  I have seen some nice baldy calves out of Fat Butt.

I just order some Dream Catcher for this exact reason. Although I'm in Canada and there's a limited # of black  baldie bulls to choose from.

I am not trying to steal this thread, but Dream Catcher is mentioned often. Have any of you that used him had or noticed any problem with soundness on the rear legs? Not trying to trash the bull, but I am a little concerned. What have you all seen ?

I have used Dream Catcher on Angus Cows and the calves are really sound and good feeders. Expect loose horns on some and white on face about 75% of the calves. Here is a pic of a Dream Catcher x Oscar 711. Reg SimAngus Heifer calf.

You never hear much about him, but we have a nice baldy cow out of Pale Face.  50% of her babies have been  baldy babies.  Oops just read you are looking for a Simm he wont work for that!

I've heard on here that built right throws alot of white, I am also looking to breed some of mine for baldies with some calving ease. Does anyone think Grizzly or 3C Sturdy would be good. Just watched Guyers sale and the grizzlys looked preety good.

Won't comment on Dream Catcher, as we haven't had any born here yet (some coming soon), but I will comment that I don't think Built Right will throw any more excess white than any of the other heavily used baldy bulls.  It can, and will happen, with most of the baldy bulls.  Remember, that baldy face didn't magically appear; it came from somewhere in the pedigree.  If the cow you are breeding to also has white in her background, it can pop up again...perhaps even more white than you bargained for!

I would guess that we've had, boy, maybe 50 born around here...and only 1 with way too much white (belt), 1 with plenty of chrome, and probably 2 or 3 more with a little white on feet.  Odds that I can live with.

There are numerous other bulls that we've used that had much higher ratios of excess white; including some of the most popular ones.

lucky dice was solid black and he made holstein looking calves. You get him in a pedigree and breed to any baldy bull and you can get one that has more white than black.
