It was all bought by just 4 different people... or at least 4 different bidder numbers. Crazy. You wait, a clone will be out soon...

I'm not surprised it brought a big price.  A great looking bull being promoted by a great program with a history of handling great bulls.  Saw the names of the buyers on Wade's blog and was surprised that there weren't some "big name" breeders buy a lot or two, but that's why it was sold like it was, so everyone had a chance to get their hands on some.  I was in up to $175 on 5 units because i have a cow or two I think he really would have worked on and would have flushed with, but my pockets just aren't deep enough I guess ;)  I hope you're right about a clone firesweep!

Well most of the big name club calf producers have already found what most of their cows work on.  Most of them wont take the time and the money to experiment on the a unproven bull.

I seen somewhere that the breeder of Blaze of Glory had full sib embryos available through an online auction.

ya he wanted $3000 per embryo.

thank you hype and marketing. We have no offspring and a young bull correct?

What do you mean???

How many offspring are on the ground from blaze of glory? Why would you pay $3000 for an egg ....one egg.. that might not stick? They have done a great job promoting the bull who never sired a calf.

wonder if u bought 3 eggs for $3k eah and got 1 offspring that was double clean, and was very common. Most people say that the double dirty 1s are the freaks ( and i know this is debateable). Just thinking out loud here.

For a bull I thought was just average I couldn't see spending 25 bucks a unit on him. My pick was two tone....unfortunately I think he looks a little high strung for me. Best to let everyone else test him.

Im just speaking my thoughts but i think it would be very risky to to buy the semen or the eggs.  i personally wouldn't buy them.

What you guys aren't adding into the equation is that Blaze of Glory isn't the first good calf out of the 143 cow. They've sold numerous high selling and champion progeny out of these genetics. I realize this was one of the first walks alones out of her, but the heat wave line has flat clicked on her. That $40,000 baldy steer in iowa did a lot of winning for example. So its not like this would be a shot in the dark, there is a history of good calves in this genetic line. Just my two cents. I understand the risks, and I think the buyers in the sale do as well.
