How much baking soda? Have you giving him Probias lately? Is he getting good grass hay and if so how much? What is his daily routine, In during the day and out at night?

he is getting about 1lb of baking soda per feeding 3 flakes hay daily routine has been little off since the turnout lot has been under water this week so calves have been kept tied daytime and loose at night in pens. mineral oil takes him down quick he has been on sure champ pellets since we have had him. He did it when we started working him last fall but it went away till about 2 weeks ago.

You might try a hand full of Tide detergent in his feed. We have had this work from time to time.

a couple of things are worthy of trying, as what "fixes" one calf, doesn't necessarily work on another.  First, I would switch hay.  If already feeding a grass hay, change the type of grass hay.  Also, I would add rice bran OIL to his feed.  It will also be very beneficial to his coat, and is VERY nutritious!  I would also try switching his feed gradually.  I'm not knocking your brand of feed, but something is apparently disagreeing with his digestive tract, and "band aids" additives might relieve the problem temporarily, but it doesn't solve the problem.

Are you buying a prepared feed or a mix from the mill .......We have always bought mix from the mill and use to have a problem ,lost some calves ,
had a mix sent to me and it had one product that said a lb. to ton of feed ...  I just skipped it ,thought that wouldn't help , lost another calf , so I decided what the heck ,maybe I'M NOT AS SMART AS I THINK, I 've been doing that ib. for atleast 5-6 years and have not lost any calves or had any bloat ... What a relief .....Your mill mix can use different quality corn and other grains so it is a challenge ....

We have experienced mild bloat in the steers the last two years.  Put a bloat block in the pen, and that took care of it.  Can't get any easier than that.
