I was wondering is anyone has seen any calves. He is a Hannibal X Double Stuff...He looks pretty maternal to me, hes got Volume, depth. and looks to have pretty good muscle and bone. Maybe a little post legged, But I was wondering if anyone has used him, and how they like him.
Thanks

I have a picture of a Blue Blood steer on another thread here. We also have a blue roan heifer out of him, and our Who Made Who/Platinum cow. She won't be a show heifer, but she will make a great cow. I'll try and get a picture of her. My Daughter is going to take her. She loves the blue roans!
The steer, along with our Red Hot heifer have been sold to a family from Thompson, Ia.

We had 5 or 6 last year and one bull calf that we thought was one of the best we ever had starting out.  He is still good but a little more cowy and less power now.  One real good heifer and another that is to steery for me.  We have 11-15 babies right now and I would say overall they look powerful and consistent.  2 may be questionable on their front ends.  We used him because he was clean and the females should be useful.  Maybe not as boxy as our Monopolys but I would possibly use him again.

Same here, we had a heifer out of him and a Double vision cow, not much of a show heifer, but had great brood cow written all over her. Going to Breed her to Jazz man in December.

I'm sorry but i just can't stand it when people so " she wont make a show heifer but will make a good cow" . any heifer that is reproductively sound will make a cow

Blue blood, Hired man, and manchild are all 3/4 brothers and from what i have seen blue blood breeds similar to manchild. the fact he is thf is a plus to.

Alpha, cowzrus state a great brood cow, the point they are making is that the heifer does not have that showy look but has everything it should take to produce quality calves. why does it bother you that people want to distinguish the difference. Holsteins make good cows, but i doubt that you want to breed them to Heatwave for club calves.

Just because a heifer is reproductively sound, does not mean she will make a good cow. This blue roan, Blue Blood heifer is sound, deep bodied, gentle. Her Mother is a good producer, great udder, and all of her calves have tons of bone. I am sure she has all the makings for a good producer.

Thanks vc for clarifying for me.  My opinion is and this is strictly an opinion for show cattle , you have 4 categories of females: you have the pretty and functional females, these are the show ring quality heifers/cows that do most of the winning, they are pretty deep, and sound, and then you have:, just pretty heifer/cows that will never be functional unless they are monitored 24/7  and continuously babysat (unfortunately yes sometimes those females do win), and then the category that my heifer falls into (broody): just plain looking but super soggy, deep ribbed, sound, with a lot of hip width to he, but that can't win a show because she lacks the prettiness and balance needed,  she obviously has the functionality needed  to produce you something that has the potential to do well in the show ring and if it doesn't give you a great one at least she gives you something that you can market to help pay the bills, and my favorite part of her is, you don't have to babysit her.The the final category: A club calf producers cull,  any female not classified in above but has  healthy reproductive organs and will produce you a calf of some sort, and I say that with a bit of sarcasm behind it (lol)

agree or disagree, just my opinion when I read broody in a post.
