breeding heifers should I ai or use my low birth weight bull

I have about 100 cows I am keeping about 15 of my best heifers I have aied about 35 to 40 cow in the past would it be better to ai my heifers or just leave them alone do you ever get a good one from calving ease bulls on heifers

Sometimes its hard to thread the cervix on a heifer. A healthy and alive calf and a healthy momma is the best you can ask for with bred heifers.  As far has having a good one then it depends on the heifer's genetic, how well she milks, the bull's genetics, etc.

Agreed. If you have a proven hefiers bull or low bw bull your confident in I would say use what you have. That being said Ai can give you options otherwise not available
