My son showed a September heifer this year and we are planning on showing her next year as a senior heifer and plan to AI her end of December or first of January. Any suggestions on what bull to use? Also has anyone had luck (good or bad ) using sexed semen? We are really wanting another September heifer. I showed for about 11 years but that has been over 15 years ago and things have changed so much that I feel like I am starting all over again . We are wanting to stay with pure bred Herfords for now and then branch out in a few years after we have built a good base of good Herford cows then get into the steer thing in a few years. Your opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

She is out of RWD Mustang ( KCF Bennett X RWD Molly and which goes back to CS Boomer 29F) and RWD Nanna ( RWD Envoy X RWD Brooke which both go back to DS KCK Legend 10J )

I have been having great luck with sexed World Wide from Genex. 2 for 3. Got an old Magnum cow waiting to calve any day here with a heifer calf. I'm not much on the herf pedigree's but I'm sure somebody has something that will work on her. If you want to use sexed semen start breeding one heat cycle before you want a calf just for lower conception rates........good luck!

I'd personally like to try NJW 8E 120J Embassy 81S ET I've never seen him in person but his females are gorgeous. BRL CALL 100L will add length of body, eye appeal and hair. I have a Feb. heifer out of him that I am really happy with. CRR ABOUT TIME 743 has some really neat calves. Hairy, stout, eye appealing. DEP Good And Plenty ET looks pretty cool from the ads I've seen. It should be interesting to see how the calves he sires turn out. He's out of About Time. I'm also a big fan of Harvie Traveler. We were stalled beside him at Agribition in 2009 and he was the real deal. His calves are pretty cool as well. A horned bull that I really like is  2010 Agribition Supreme winner BIG-GULLY 611 BOUNTY 517U. They had him at the World Hereford Conference in July and he still looked real good. I threw out a bunch of names, I guess it just depends what you're looking for. If you posted a picture of your heifer and info on what you would like to see in her calf that would help too. Good luck!
