Percentage of which breeds or breeds? To figure the percentages out you just need to add whatever breed that you are wanting to know then divide that number by two. Example, 3/8s plus 1/4= 5/8s. 5/8divided by 2 = 5/16s. 3/8 +2/8=5/8. 5/8=10/16 to be able to divide it by 2=5/16s. If you give us the percentages of the breeds that you want to know we can figure it out for you. if you have the actual percentages the same applies. For example 28% + 32%=60% divided by 2= 30%.

From Bull barn - Two Tone is:
6.18% CA
35.81% AN
25.39% MA
32.62 xx

And your description of the Cow is:

50% AN
50% SM

The progeny would be:

3.09% CA
42.91% AN
12.70% MA
16.31% XX
25% Simmental

AKA - Club Calf

XX is crossbred.  Be careful relying on the percentages for upgrades based on advertising as they may not be accurate or actually registered with a breed.  Check the registry of the association you are trying to register from.  All the registries have some form of Digital Beef and the information is readily available.  This is also a great tool searching sires for registrations and actual reported birthweights, some of them may shock you.

Hi, can you give me more information on how to check actual birthweights through the simmental association herdbook. I've been looking through the web and cannot locate this feature but i would find is extremely useful! Thanks!

Just wanted to add that if you want to change a fraction to a percentage you just need to divide the numerator by the denominator. Example 3/8s blood would be 3 divided by 8 or 37.5%.

The Simmentals you have to do a progeny report and then it will give you all of the calves registered out of them and gives EPD not necessarily the quantitative data.
