We are starting to build our new showbarn this next week, I'm starting to work on the things for the inside of the barn and I was wondering if there was a good place to purchase fans in bulk or what type to get??  Or if there was anything else you would advise us too do or you would do if you could build a new barn?  Thanks!! (clapping)

Been told to use big Schaefer fans, we don't show so I can't back this up.  I do know they build their fans for dairy and hog confinement use, so I highly doubt you will have one burn out or fall to pieces, we have old ones we used to use for farrowing and they can take horrible conditions and just keep working.

I just have regular 80 watt light bulbs in my barn and its not nerly enough light.  I hung halogen work lights where i dry my cattle off and clip them.  But its all up to you on how to make it easier for you to see.    (lol)

I use sullivan barnfans.  They are quiet and move alot of air.  The thing I love about them is that they are super quiet!  Turbo fans annoy the heck out of me!  I only use those at shows.

I would use florescent lights. The long bulbs ( 4' to 8' long) not the screw in kind

Here's one thing that we did in our barn.  Of course you want alot of outlets, but we placed some of them in a different spot.  We have Riverode gates and we had our welder make brackets that would mount on these gates to hold our fans.  We have outlets hanging from the rafters in the same vacinity of the fans so we don't have to use extension cords.  It's a little thing but it is really handy.

I already had that in my plans! Great minds think alike, it also keeps it neat and tiddy without a lot of cords hanging around!
