Calf a little stale

We have a heifer that we showed at our county fair and will be going to state fair. She looked awesome at our county fair and yesterday she still looked good but a bit stale and appeared a little short strides. She does not pop. In the evening her loading pen is cement and I'm wondering if this has something to do with it. She is under fans all day but does get walked a good 1/4 yo 1/2 mile a day. We plan on making her run around the yard everyday from now until fair. Is there anything else that can be done?

Get off concrete ASAP!

I wish we could but where we normally exercise them at night is under water as we have had a lot of rain in the last few days. Tonight we let her run all over the yard. We basically chased her. Don't know if that was so great. Eventually she ran back to her tie stall. We observed her tonight and we think she is just getting a bit heavy and is so muscle bound. We have backed off the feed tonight and fed more Precon. Don't know if that was the right thing to do but is what we did.
