We had a cow to calf on June 6th and then a week later we noticed that it was born with problems with the real legs. When it had to walk a ways it got really hot. The calf back right leg was almost doubled jointed, but not back and front by front and sideways..... hope my old English makes since. The calf grew very well and was extremely thick in the top and rear end. The left rear leg was a little limber jointed. I have never seen this problem. The calf was out of an AI sire owned by a friend.
Have you seen this type of problem? What is it?
The calf died yesterday. She showed no signs of illness the day before. I figure she got too hot on the new pasture and maybe some dogs chased her. The people who live on the farm (owners) think the dogs might have chased her.
