I remember reading many sale catalogs last fall and winter with bred females being bred to GCC Wizard.  Along with quite a bit of semen selling on him.
Who among you had GCC Wizard calves this spring?  Or have seen GCC Wizard calves somewhere else?

Please give us your thoughts on his calves.

1.  What cows did he work best on?
2.  Did he add thickness, top, or rear quarter?
3.  Did he add "depth of body and rib"?
4.  Did he moderate frame?
5.  How are the "front ends" on the calves?  Long, clean, small headed?
6.  What size were the birth weights?

Thank you in advance for your calf reports!

Whizard is probably my favorite bull out there currently for making females that I plan on becoming club calf mommas. I have my third year of calves from him and haven't sold a heifer yet. I have used him primarily on commercial Angus, both cows and heifers. He adds top, depth of body, and rib. They don't have that freak type muscle or base width, but you can tell from a young age that they will be powerful brood cows. I would say on my cows he may have slightly moderated their frame or didn't change it. All the calves I have had have been clean in their front end, but the cows were to. The one word that comes to mind with him is "consistent." We have quite a few people come and look at calves throughout the year and everyone says you can tell all the Whizard calves have the same sire. The birth weights are 70-75lbs. I have never pulled a calf and bred him to about 30 heifers so far and about 50 cows. I bred my first group of Whizard females to Frisky Whiskey and got some really awesome calves this year. However, they were all hard pulls. Wouldn't do that again. Not sure if I should blame Frisky Whiskey for that or not, but wont use him on any heifers again. The last thing I would say is that they milk like crazy.

Thank you, Sherudam.  Sounds good!

Can anyone comment on how he is working on "clubby bred type cows"? Cows that are "harder doing", need softening up and could use some added milk?

Will he improve udders, and teats shape and size"?
