Are their any products out there besides calf calm that can be used to calm a calf down. We have one that has had a rough life and seems to be still not beginning to gentle up with daily contact and work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Walmart has melatonin in a variety of dosages.

Works Ok if they are not too crazy.

I'm told melatonin implants work real well too, but hate to spend the $ on them.  Look to the left margin for more info.

Good luck!

When breaking a calf like that try some Ace. Only give 1cc and see how that effects him. Calf calm and melatonin are not strong enough when first starting to break a calf. After a couple times of that the calf normally calms down. Then melatonin should work great for you at the shows.

Idk if this works on cattle but I know of people who get triptopan...the stuff in turkey that makes you sleepy...for horses that stress out. The people I have seen use it it definitely helped a lot.
And if you need to keep giving it its a lot more legal than ace if you would ever be somewhere that tested
