I see everone is talking about the sires,I just taught it would be interesting to see what everone else is confortable with out of their heifers.
I see some people have birth weights out of certain sires between 55-70 lbs. and mine will be 85-90. Just curious.

Had a 95 lb. Naughty Pine heifer last night. I like them a little smaller, but she had it no problem. (angel)

Our calves will range from 70 to the mid 80s on both cows and heifers. Occaissionally we will have one in the 90s out of an AI bull, but anything over 95+ is rare. If we had one in the 100+ range I would think it was a monster. RW

I really dont mind weights although we weigh them immediately  when born. I hate certain shapes. I have had heifers spit out 100 #'s like they were peanuts but they were slender shaped. Some of the club calves with monster bone and muscle ouch. I do'nt like the little concrete blocks. They may only weigh 80#s but they are hell to get out sometimes. Learned my lesson's the hard way on calving ease. We shoot for calving ease bulls only on heifers. If I can get them in the 70's it is great. This year we were kind all over the board on weights. Heaviest was about 110 #'s and the lightest 58#'s.
