Whats the story on this herd? Cannondale farms. What are the cattle like? Is it a fake money deal? Thanks in advance.

Does Cannondale own SULL roan blast with teets and teague? Are there calves in Colorado to look at?

Cannondale has been in business probably as long as I have.  That's been a long time.  The Bryan family is as good a group of folks as you'd want to meet.  I always enjoyed showing with them at the Minnesota State Fair when we used to show a lot.  They would be offended by your question regarding "fake money."  Maybe Tom has a good job.  Maybe they've made a lot of money farming the last few years.  $7 corn will do that.  What difference does it make?  It looks to me like they've invested in some bulls they thought would sire some calves they could make money on.  Their internet sales appeared to go well the last couple of years.  More power to them.  I assume you're questioning the Payday transaction.  I've purchased a few cattle back after I sold them.  There doesn't have to be an alterior motive.

I agree that the Cannondale herd has been around for a very long time. I recently was going through some old Shorthorn World magazines from the 60s and saw one of their ads. I also don't think there has to be an alterior motive when someone steps up to the plate and invests in a good animal ( good to them at least!). Yesterday, a Simmental bull sold for $190,000 in a sale here in Saskatchewan. I know both the buyer and the seller and they are as honest people as you will find anywhere. I don't question this price for 1 second as I know they are honest people. The buyer and his family are big farmers and run a big cow operation as well. They sell over 100 bulls in their own sale and oftentimes average  $6000 or more. They had a very good sale again this year. This business is changing and there are people in it that are willing to invest in their future with big dollars and real dollars.

I was reading sullivans sale catalog.....on page 37 they list a binch of herd bulls they had raised....but they aren't any calves registered from them. Sull red stallion 1335 has one calf. 0233 no calves. And then on the pedigrees the bull shows Sullivan ownership and the listed syndicate didn't seem to show up. Maybe they haven't had any calves yet.

Sull Red Stallion is a 2011 model. They used him last year 2012. Calves would be arriving this year. I don't think its that unusual for a new bull in February now March to have one calf registered. What's so unusual about that? What am I missing?

There have been quite a few Red Stallion embryos offered for sale by people other than the Sullivans.  There are some in the Ohio Beef Expo, I think.  I know some of the syndicate members and they all have calves coming by him.  Wasn't there a picture of a new born Red Stallion calf on here not long ago?  I know one of the guys that bought in on Copper Top 2 years ago.  He's had just a few calves with many more coming.  Look through all the sale catalogs and magazines.  There are quite a few calves out of quite a few different Sullivan bred bulls.  Maybe not all of the bulls have had calves out of them recorded yet, but not all the bulls I've sold have produced registered calves, either.  I've often wondered what it would be like if people spent as much time planning the future direction of their own breeding program as they do trying to tear down someone else's.

In the one ad....SULL red stallion is owned by the rockin g cattle and the Red Stallion syndicate. Yet on the ASA web deal it has Sullivan Cattle owning him. Is it a misprint in the catalog? Shouldn't the pedigree be the legal owner? How does the syndicate stuff work? Is a syndicate a corporation or a limited partnership or an LLC.or just a gentlemans agreement?
