first time posting. I have a capiche bull calf he was born in march and my guess is he weighs 550lbs and is a tank. he is already breeding cows he can reach. Was wondering on opinions if he would show better as a bull or show steer?

He looks to me like he is already pretty mature looking and if he is breeding cows he is probably getting to masculine appearing in his front end to make a show steer.  He may weigh more that you think.  Do you have a market for him as a steer or bull?

I dont know what kind of cow hes out of-looks to have some simm to me-And-he DEFINITELY looks like a bull-and looks to me like hed sire some stout calves that grow. If he was a good BW-Id keep him a bull-but dont wring him out too young O0

his bw was 75lbs. as far as the dam goes we arnt completly sure on her breed, my brother bought her in a cow calf pair she was the calf at the time and her dam was a dark silver. so we were thinking the cow was a Charolais cross bred to a herford resulting in the yellow cow in the pic. But i also herd of simm. throwing some dark brown in the mix.

She may have some simm char-etc-either way he has a good BW-Waeaning spread and is a good looking calf-If you read the thread 2-3 lines down-"clean up bull options" he would be ideal for what that fellow is looking for-hes an example of why Horns cross so well-but his dam is a good looking deep ribbed cow too ME LIKE O0
