Quite a buzz around this bull when he first came out, but I am not sure I have seen a calf out of him since and thats not a good thing. Anyone seen anything or heard what he works on?

Ya, was a post a couple weeks ago asking about him-- and i suggested doing a search...  But as of last night the search feature was down.

I liked him, bought semen on him-- see quite a few calves being posted on here by someone in Iowa.

He's not being used to sire steers- b/c I don't know that he's bred to sire steers-- quite a bit of maternal in him.  I don't think he's been siring heifers either-- b/c nobody raising club calves breeds to make heifers.

He's the top 2 bull of Denver that year, in everyone opinion who was on the judging team of mine in college.  Stoutest, meatiest, and most powerful by far-- of course he was also a fall born-- so he had some extra age to him that time of year-- but I think it was legit power that he's got.  Biggest complaint- was a lack of hair quality.  I remember it being "herf" and purebred "char" in that regard.

We have had a couple of our Captain Morgans do some winning at the county level and the Grand Steer at Wichita last year was a Captain Morgan.  One of the best heifers that we kept back this year to flush is also a captain morgan.  He will throw a little more front and his hair is not great but his calves have been very easy feeding, growing cattle that perform well.  We have a couple of steers going to dallas this year that are also Captain Morgans so it will be interesting to see how it turns out, all in all for as long as he has been out and what he has produced I would not count him out.
