And that is your perception Jill. Others may not see it that way. The banks and the auto industry both ask for a government bail out. No one forced the auto giants to go to washington and ask for money. No one forced the banks to take the money. I don't think we are any worse off with the ones in power than we were two years ago.
not so with the banks. don't know about the auto companies. i think the jury is still out on what happened with negotiations with bond holders versus the unions and why bond holders essentially came up almost empty. why would anyone risk money when you get 10c on the dollar when the negotiation stipulated you were first in line.
policy dictates that people need to ask the government for money. is there an ag person who would give away any of their subsidies? probably that number is pretty low. for us, after our pasture money runs out, we are not re upping due to requirements.
it's pretty clear that some banks were strong armed to take the money. in one regard, that may have been a ploy for them not to get business that they should have got had the other stupid banks gone under. people paint a doom and gloom about banks going under. it would have been a good thing.
