who ended up with the mattis bull calf?  How did he realy look in person....loved the picture.
Studer Family bought him. He was a pretty good bull. The sister by Asset was the best heifer in the sale. IMO.

Doc.... I wanted lot 34!!!!   I chased for a long time, but eventually bowed out. She is one of the best Picture Perfects I have seen. Her full sister is also an incredible female. Their dam, the original Picture Perfect 549, is one of my all time favorite Shorthorn females.... well, for that matter, she is one of my favorite females of all breeds. Talk about cow families that breed on, IMO, this one does it in spades. I have some Picture Perfects and they are consistent, in that they bring home a top end calf regardless of what they are bred to.

What is her Cloud 9 bull calf like? I know he is less than a month old now and it will be interesting to see if he is THF. If he is THF, he may be a pretty good breeding piece despite being a horned bull. Personally, I love to have a homozygous polled bull walking in my pastures, but I also think that in order to get the best calves, it seems you have to have the horned gene close up in the pedigree. I am not afraid  to use a horned bull occasionally. The last horned bull I used was Rainbow Focus ( Huberdale Mastercharge X CF 5 Queens ) and he was turned out with 32 polled cows. There were 30 polled calves and 2 horned calves. Many of the polled bulls I have used have polled far less!

Congrats on getting lot 34 bought. I wish you luck in flushing her and hope she produces for many more years.
This is bringing back some memories.  The last shortie I showed competed against 549.
