I am looking for a good book that covers raising cattle. Anybody read or know of a good book.

Thanks got some friends to the family asking bout a book they can read. Does it cover everything from start to finish and is it easy to read for people who know nothing about cattle?

as is the entire storey's guide series...

I have the whole set, almost- and flip through them occasionally and still learn something every time.

highly recommended from this source, well worth the little bit to invest.

It is very easy reading, even for a beginner.  Starts with a breeds overview and cattle handling and behavior, feeding, breeding, calving, weaning and health. Pretty much direct and to the point...definitely in "laymen" terms. It's not a very big book for all it has in it. LOTS of tidbits ("homemade electrolyte recipe" under "Calf Health" was one I put to use...EXCELLENT).  Is a great reference book, too.
