When ever we have had cattle hauled we just pay a flate rate. Usually its anywhere from $200-$450. I 've had calves shipped from as far as SD to FL.

Depending on distance and fuel prices I have seen them charge $2.35-$3 per loaded mile.

We haul every now and again and prices are about consistent with what LIMO said but it also depends on possible back loads, how far off the main roads you are stuff like that, how wild the cattle are, and so on. Another factor would be how many calves are on the load.

We bought a heifer in denver this year and to have a Pennsylvania guy bring her back with his cattle to PA was $600.00. He also charged that for another guy to bring a bull to the same place. So what ever that ends up being.

I've always paid and got paid on a per head basis. The more head on the trailer the cheaper/head. I've paid fron 125-300/head and charged from 100-200/head.
