Are you allowed to pump fluids down steers? Saw lots at Fort Worth and Houston.

Not sure about those shows, some places it is allowed, some places it isn't.  So many rules vary from one show to another - so often on these forums, people want to stone someone from another place for doing something that's against the rules for them, but may be perfectly acceptable where it's being done.

IMO, the most abused rules nowadays in junior livestock shows are those regarding the ownership and daily care of the animals.

I am not sure about Ft Worth but I was reading the rules for Houston today and blowing up is "not legal".

At ft.worth we saw painting..thats all that I really noticed. It is a rule, but I guess its not enforced.

What is legal at houston? They seem to have a rule for EVERYTHING.  ::) Just blow and go..water based only.We are just bringing our big black tool boxes instead of the show boxs, just packing halters, ties, shaving cream, and kleen sheen..lol.

Oh My God!!! Sounds just like Showsteers old forum. I was really beginning to like this forum.....I really thought we had got past all this.I do know this....I know a hell of alot of people that WIN,from small jackpots to Major shows, that do NOT cheat. When this gets started,it saddens me to think that some folks are so naive to think this hasn't been going on since the beginning of time. Hell, I know it's not right, but I've lived with it just as everyone before me has. Ruining the reputation of a pleasant experience such as this forum has been, wreaks with jealously, contempment and down right foolishness. You or I or anyone else will never be able to control much of what goe's on in our industry.Listen, I know this is a public forum to have discussions about most anything, but when this gets started,it's drags us all down, and makes it look like a bunch of 80 year olds at a sewing bee. Fighting and arguing and accusing people of cheating ,without legitimate proof is slanderous and libel. Just remember,it only takes a slip of the tongue on a public forum and you may be worrying about a hell of lot of  worse things than how your neighbor or friends may have cheated at a livestock show.

I don't think I've been to a show for any kind of animal where I didn't see someone cheating.  That's big shows down to local shows.  Anything from "fudging" birth dates on up.  It's also not just the animals, people break the rules with equipment setup, check-in or out, tie outs, feeding, etc.  I think goat shows are the cleanest shows as far as rule breaking.
