Has anybody tried any Char X Shorthorn, or char appearing (Milkman, Yellow Jacket, etc.)?  Curious to see pictures.  Thinking of trying this on a few of our reg. shorthorn cows and wandering what the results would be?  Mostly trying to simplify the semen ordering, with only 15 cows would like to keep the different sires to a minimum.

I used Troubadour on 2 last year. One heifer that we kept for a replacemnent and one steer that I sold for a county fair steer. Sorry no photos. I love that cross, done it a for a few years. I would love to try Firewater on some, maybe this year...

The picture is a Char bull on a Shorthorn cow. People I got her from had another one exactly like her just opposite pedigree wise. Also have used Firewater on a White shorthorn cow and got a calf simalar to this heifer.

I saw a really good CharXRAXSH at Lakeside a few years ago.  he was a troubidor I think.  My friend will have 5 coming this year out of char cows any my Doc Clark bull.  They should be really neat.

Here in southern Brazil a classic cross were SHO x CHAR. This was used for many years to add meat quality, fat and precocity on fast weight gain Charolais cows.
On early this year I sold 500 straws of my roan bull for some breedrs that wish do again this cross. Together Charolais cows, they also used on half blood Brahman/Aberdeen Angus cows.
Photos attached.
The yellowish calf is a half blood Charolais cow x Shorthorn bull. The black one is 50% Shorthorn, 25% Angus, 25% Brahman.

Yes- I used Troubadour on a Sh x RA female . Here is a calf video. "Bucky's" calves are due in a couple of months- he was used on clubby type first calf heifers....

Again this bull video is a 3 way cross
