This is my red baldy heifer , born late because her dam slipped her first breeding due to the extreme heat last summer. Dam is a stylish , clean throated black baldy and her sire is the black baldy bull in my profile picture. Total outcross to todays simmys. Shes young yet but i welcome any comments , think theres any potential there ??? Thanks in advance . I apologize for the second picture as she is standing in a hole lol ! Last picture was taken August 21 , shes growing some.

She seems to have all the right things going for her. From a muscle design and bone size perspective she looks to hold her own, very well built with lots of power. Now from a structure design it is hard to tell on her front end as you stated she is standing in an awkward position to really evaluate her, but none the less still looks to have it going on. Its just the way she is standing hunched in and turned to the side, being a calf is very inquisitive of the photographer. This is making her look a little weak behind her shoulder, with the being in the hole and her neck pinched and turned to the side. Im sure once you get a good picture of her on the profile she will show off that good neck extension and front end. Good looking calf, what are your plans for her?

Thanks old world shortie. Ya I need to get a little better picture of her , she's tough to catch in the perfect position as she's always looking into the camera! Her expected epds are great all around , and yes there's a little power in her.  Kind of undecided yet as to her future plans.

yup sure do....  but If I remember right, you told me that you had all these black cattle that were generations away from anything other than black, and how you were wanting blacks.. and here you go saying you want color.. (lol)  I'm lost???

good cattle are good cattle no matter what the color

isn't that the truth.. course me being a shorthorn guy, I sure wish you'd tell the packers and feeders that; instead they steal the roans every single time...

Thank you to the last two posters !!! I agree one hundred percent. My cows are all black or black baldys believe it or not but yes about 3 of them carry the red gene. The two stripped or spotted calves are the first two I've seen in the last five years. Back in the old days we used to have a lot of them !

The Truth - don't bother commenting on my posts anymore , the negativity is not needed ! I always gave you the benifit of the doubt but whatever. Not once ever did I say I had all homo black cattle or wanted all homo black cattle !!! Your not talking to an uneducated child here !!!

I am also very impressed with your cattle. And I also get bored with a pasture full of solid black ones! How do they keep em all straight?!

On the first picture it looks like she has a bit of length to her? I grew up with simmys and still love to see them purebred or cross!  (clapping) Can you post a picture of her again in a couple of months? I love her face, with the white it looks so friendly!

Thank you all very much for the positive comments on my cattle and this heifer. Back in the days when my father still had the cows we had lots of color to say the least so as much as the market dictates I cant get away from having some reds completely. Im still in the process of building a strong herd , it all takes time and money but im hoping im off to a good start ! Ive been keeping about 3 differnt types of simmys , some dream on influenced , some meyer 734 influenced , and my older perfector / g&l avalanche genetics . Thanks again!
