We had a sunseeker heifer born yesterday and she is pretty good. If I was to keep her could I register her as a chi and if so how hard would it be. She is out of a angus cow that is not registered and might have a little chi in her I don't know because we bought her from my grandfather and well grandpas don't always keep the best records (lol) Ya gotta love em. Thanks

If i understand it right all you need to register a calf is to have one of the Parents Registered. Sunseeker is registered so you shouldn't have much trouble getting the calf registered. I have a calf that is only 2.3% chi but is registered

you just have to have a calf that's alive and breathing to register chi!  heard once that a straw of Chi semen in the tank is enough to rub off and create chi registered cattle

there is no required % needed, just one parent needs to be registered and the calf will be registered either chimaine or chiangus but you can still show in the chi class
