Just had a heifer calf out of him about 2 weeks ago,  dam is a commericial black simm cross.  Calf all black, bigger than I expected around 90 pounds but cow didnt have any trouble.  Prob a bigger calf because we feed cow too much.  Very happy with how this heifer is looking so far and plan on using him again next year, this was the first chill factor we've ever had.

We had two settle with him this year.  A Shortie and a Star Five (Red Headed Stepchid X Gert) but I won't have pictures for you until September.  We were wanting to get some color out of the Shortie and wanted to power up the Star Five while still maintaining moderate birth weights.  We shall see??

Chill Factor does a great job if the cow has plenty of guts...

Even though our experiences have been limited with Chill Factor, I feel his influence has been felt nicely within our herd.  The Chill Factor cows, from my experience, can be used with maternal and/or terminal sires.  We had twin Solid Gold heifer calves out of a Chill Factor cow last year, and this year, she is bred for a more maternally-oriented calf to Predator.

This particular C.F. cow is moderately framed and milks very well.

I, too, am considering breeding some of our Maines to Chill Factor.

The picture is of the Chill Factor cow.

Best of luck to you.
