Anyone have any tips for cleaning all the glue and crud out of combs? I've decided to take on the task of cleaning all the show supplies.  Before you ask, yes, I am crazy.

Spray them with any of the break down products or oils -- hocus pocus, hair savior, its gone, pink oil, mineral oil, etc. and let them set for a few minutes and rinse with water while running a hard bristle brush through the teeth.

Scrape all of the gunk off each tooth with your fingernail.

Then follow the instructions given by GoWyo in the above post, except use that method on your fingernails.

I don't know why I do it, but I always end up standing there cleaning them with my fingernails.

Good thinking to clean it all up BEFORE you are at a show.

Spray all with WD40 or CRC556  These will break down the best. After this, drop in a bucket of hot soapy water. Soap to use is dishwasher DAWN. Clean up with good brush. Will look just like new.

1. let them soak in anti-fungal dip from sullivans
2. dry off

you don't need to scrub or anything if you do this. it will literally fall off.

We use WD40.....cheaper by far than any of the products from the cattle supply companies.  Works wonders.
