clones

i have heard bad things about clones such as a heat wave clone calf came out with different dna and different donors in the straws and weird things like steers just dyeing can any one shed light on this? what do u thin about clones

seen that happen with 2 realy nice hw clone calves just poof dead

Ya but does any one know why

I seriously doubt they are going to be coming out w/ dna if they were bred to the right straw of clone dna... 

with dna part i mean that they used a heat wave straw but it was somthing else in the straw or somthing i dont know the whole story

Don't know about why the calves are dropping dead, but the DNA should be the same as the original HW. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed as I'm using a HW clone to breed to one of my Full Throttle cows as HW works well with her and I'm not spending $250 to $300 a straw on the original, maybe if I was flushing her but that is down the road after I get some mature recips.

Unless those calves are 130 lbs at birth and drop dead from dystosia, there is no reason why being out of a HW clone would cause them to mysteriously die.  I have used HW5 and had absolutely no problems.  Nice, vigorous calves.  Maybe the calves didn't get enough colostrum.

Calves drop dead " poof", every day. I had a person call me the other day about one that I had found for them that they found dead 6 days after weigh in. It happens all the time.
