Cloning a bull?

haha in that case i will continue to keep playing with the idea  (lol) but if anyone wants to clone an american steer for a bull i have one that definately needs to be considered he is a heatwave X american cow.

last year at denver the lady from Trans Ova said somthihng like 20k for just the DNA marking of what ever you call it

Well Its 25 to 30k when I last looked into it so for 12k that is  pretty good.

why don't you just breed to cowtown?  he's a double carrier and a clone from  a steer.  he also won some big show.  big deal.  semen sales are through the basement.  no one's even mentioned using him on here.  there must be some calves out of him somewhere.

when we talked to transova ona  field trip they said it would cost 18k for first one and 2k less every one after that so 16k, 14k ,12k and so on
so heatwave is at roughly 15 clones of him self soo... 18k 16k 14k 12k 10k 8k 6k 4k 2k "0" 2k 4k 6k 8k 10k Buy ten get 5 free?  (lol)

yes that would be that steer he is pretty cool i was mainly just playing with the idea no intent to ever do it i have just had a few guys inquire on him as a bull as he would be a really cool one just to be honest not to sure how it would work, like i said just an idea never really had any intent of anthing

I went back and looked at him in the showbox under champion ABC steer, your not kidding.. he is a very nice animal.

Thank you for the comment and he is one of the best americans we have had but is just too young for our feeding program and didnt get big enough for an overall so i will be taking the steer we were champ brangus with at state fair prospect to houston

I would suggest you call Trans Ova/Bovance to get current prices.  I stopped at their booth in Denver and was asking some questions about their services,I know they told me they have one cloning program that starts at $16,000 per calf and goes down from there with volume.
