If you had a choice of these bulls for show calves which would you use if any? How about the for maternal function and show calves?

Direct Draft, Manchild, Hollywood, Point Taken or Hannibal

I dont know if you will find a bigger fan of point taken then myself. I believe his calves are under valued. I think their stouter than most you will find and more complete. with no heat wave in him his daughter s are awesome cows and your seeing them pop up everywhere. I think his biggest flaw was a master promoter like lautners and rodgers didnt own him! jmo.
here is a video link to see him: http://www.cattle.com/video/watch.aspx?id=75

Whats the growth and structure like? Can you get them to 1300 at 17 months with no cool room?

Love my Hollywood calves. Hair, bone, and stout made. And he will color one up every now and then. Hannibal has worked for us. Had a Hannibal X HooDoo/Angus clean up bull for awhile. I'd use Hannibal on some smaller deep made kind of female. He is clean so you can use him on carrier cows.

He definitely will not add depth. We bred one of our belly dragging angus cows to him and the heifer she had he took some depth away but she is still a good replacement heifer just not as deep as I would like to see her at this stage. Bred him to a CharXMaineXAngus that had some depth to them and calves had plenty of depth.

I havent seen many Manchilds other than his son-who is basically SOLD OUT-but Id use him for the oldschool genetics-and the basic grow-them was thick cattle-and bigger than the weeee little ones I see on the Lautner Hawkeye blog today-And in reality-BIGGER BUTT and if you get a hifer-It can actually raise a caf-etc O0

Willow springs, I am guessing you are from Canada because all of those bulls are amongst the few that abs Canada carries for clubbies. If I were you I would take a look at what Semex, genex, and competitive edge has to offer, I think that they have a lot more to offer if you are looking to raise steers. As far as those bulls go I have a rainmaker (man child son) heifer that my little brother showed she's got a lot of top, bone and hair but not quite enough muscle for my liking. If she was a steer there would be no way I think she would make it as a fat, regardless she's very attractive from the profile and did well in the show ring. The bill that intrigues me most out o that listing is Hannibal, he is one of if not the only son of WMW left in Canada and I am planning on buying some semen on him. I'm putting in some steel force x PB angus embryos next spring and if the female has the right phenotype that's how I am breeding her.

One bull I am not familiar with is direct draft couldn't find any info on linee,is he a draft pick son, or a direct hit son, possibly a mixture of the two?

Yes, I am in Canada, and ABS in Canada has put all of these bulls on special; $15/unit. I get a bit off of that as a rep so thought if any of these bulls might work I would give them a try at that kind of money.

Do you know how long this offer is on for, I am guessing they are trying to sell old semen and I like to get a few straws of hannibal in the tank.

Is this for Canada only? I could not find Point Taken in ABS USA for Club Calf Bulls.

I have had some Blue Bloods (hanibal son) the past couple years. They have really made the greatest steers and heifers out of my high percentage simmys. I have one heifer i bred this year that looks like she might be the best Clubbie bred heifer I have kept. We will see how she raises a calf hopefully next spring.
