I think this problem is mostly on clubby females but not as much on pure breds like Shorties or Angus.

I'm not the only one who thinks they're too small...

Every one is looking for thr next big thing.  Eye Candy may be old but IMO he's more proven.  For that matter, if your cows larger framed and materal in her make up why not do the obvious; Heat Wave; bull or heifer you could come out big.

I'm just saying, why try something that you're not sure of the out come when there are clubby bulls out there that have been crossed with Shorthorn cattle time and time again with proven results?  If you get a bull (steer calf) it might make one heck of a prospect steer, be hot as heck and bring good $.  Probably will not make it ti full size.  Me, I have a clubby bred female and a PB Angus.  I'd never use him no matter how high his calves sell at a few choice sales in Iowa.  Half of the calves will come out heifers and I want something that hopefully can show for two years at Fort Worth and then go back into the herd, not just win as a fat calf and then go to the sale barn...

I agree Cattle Cards. I too have preached that I find them a little too small. Of course you will seen some with frame, but when your selling 5000 units+/year, your going to find some with frame. I have said a bull in a few situations and people dont take me serious about him. Look at Point Taken. His bred heifers are popping up EVERYWHERE! And your starting to see alot of calves put of Point Taken cows. Also, I tell you what I had a heifer out of him, and she was stout. She was shown at a Jackpot in Ohio against steers as a calf and took 3rd overall and won the heifer deal. Tice had some awesome PT's out of their Black and white donor. Gonnet has a hell of a PT Donor. there will be a bull in denver this year called Revoultion raised by Shike that is a I-80 X PT. I am telling you what his daughters are everywhere. He throws super stout too as steers and also never seen any structure problems out of his calves. He is a Heat Seeker x Whiplash so hes got maternal pedigree coming with him. His problem is he came out atound the time if not the same year as Monopoly and just got overshadowed.. but he is worth a look. Steer or heifer it is going to be real good

This cow has produced 2 really nice heifers for us since we got her.  With her BW epd and her size she isn't exactly what we are breeding for, for our program.  We have sold a few show heifers and I think her brought down just a tick with a good clubby bull maybe a blue roan would be marketable.  She throws hair and style to produce a show heifer that could do well I think.  I was really thinking about Eye Candy.  What are his bw's like?  Will he bring them down a maybe a little?  Thanks for all the sugestions
