My picks would be I-80, Here I Am, No Worries and Huff N Puff.

I would suggest some proven embryo matings. The better the cow the better the calf. I have a nice set of basically maternal bred females that wean heavy calves. I have rented a top bull from Phil Lautner for over ten years and have had bulls such as MAB clone,Heatwave clone,Jackpot, Dakota Gold clone and Milkman for 3 years.Havent had one cripple and each year have sold several calves of witch one of the top ones pays the lease. They love the colored up ones to show but not at the salebarn

Thanks for the replies. I was leaning towards I 80 and here I am. And probably huff and puff for my charlois to try for a smoke colored one. Just helps knowing others like those bulls also. At this point not going the embryo route just because we are new to it. One step at a time. Thanks again.

I-80 is certainly a great bull...but not much power there.  He is a first calf heifer safe type of bull, so don't be surprised if they don't have much to them.

A high % of the steers that win have Heatwave or his son Monopoly influence.A lot of people thought they wouldn't make  good cows but if the mother was maternal enough there are many excellent cows that are working. Many South Dakota herds are stacked with club calf sired females and sell the calves real well.

I had heard that I 80 is heifer safe but wasnt sure. I would say if i could only fix one thing on my commercial cows i would say put morr strength and width thoughout there front ends so maybe he isn't the bull for the job.

Ya, honestly I had hoped you would come to that conclusion.  He isn't the right bull.

Here I Am is no doubt the bull I would choose.  He will stouten them up, and throw big time hair.

Who Made Who always worked on our plainer cows.  He is really consistent and his daughters were in really high demand for steer mama's not to long ago.
