I have some cows that are pretty small framed. They are deep bodied, but could use some thickness and frame. What clubby bulls would add some frame and thickness to hopefully make some clubby calves? On the same note what are some clubby bulls I should stay away from with these already small cows? Thanks!

Almost Famous can add some size
A fellow clubby guy has used WMW and for some reason on his mixed maine herd his WMW calves are larger made and usually are a tick bigger. Usually WMW calves are not that large.
Hannibal is perfect for small made deep body females.
Sin City
The Ree Heights calves I saw first year were longer legged and larger.
Northern Improvement for us has worked great for growth.

Others may not have had success with some of the above but those are one for our herd that have worked in adding a frame score or so. Our herd is shorthorn base with few x breds throw in.

Everyone has been saying that Yellow Jacket makes em too big. Lifeline might fit the bill.

The one we raised, and one a boy in our 4-H club raised were both big framed, stout calves. They were just not done until over 1400 pounds.
They had no problem converting feed either.

I agree on Hannibal and sunseeker, but make sure the cows have the rib and depth before using those. Manchild also popped in my mind until I read they need some thickness and this is something he just doesn't add imho.

Alot of your older club calfs bulls that were high percentage Maine will add frame size, such as Full Throttle, Habanero, Heart Beat, Pistol Pete and so on. You can still find some of the older bull's semen for a decent price if you look around. I own 2 full throttle cows and 1 habanero and they all have large frames, so I use bulls to shorten them up.

There have been a lot of posts recently regarding One and Only. I would consider him as he is a larger framed bull and would certainly be a great TH free option. Also agree on Sunseeker and Hannibal, and they make great females.

Last Straw from Eastern Iowa a very muscular calf with alot of hip but backs it up with a big back end and when him and a nice soft cow is crossed you can get a calf that is complete with just being a powerhouse calf that is wide topped  and really getting a profiled look that many of us desire in our show cattle

We have had a ton of luck with Frye Invincible once we found the type of cow that he works on.  They need to be small and soggy.  He will add muscle, hair and even will correct some structural problems on exotic cows.  It seems like there are not many producers using him, but he has his place on those small cows.

Last Straw a nice option or his sire Paddy O' Malley,  I also like Invincible, Predator, Sunseeker and Yellow Jacket on the smaller framed soggy made cows.  those will give you some nice options in either ThC or THF options.  Paddy and Last Straw are both PHAC.

Sunseeker has always been the most consistant at my place for adding frame and bone. All the one and onlys I have in the pasture right now are the biggest calves. I really think they are going to keep going but who knows how they will finish. I have no reason to believe they are going to quit but it always changes when you wean them and put everything in the feedlot.
