What are some of the best Hereford bulls for making clubbies?  Don't have to be Hereford necessarily, just need to look like one.  I know that there are some really good ones running around, I just haven't kept up with them.  Any suggestions?

If your looking for clubby purebreds, I would go with Hard Drive, Grand Slam, and Cyrus might be some good choices. There is also Crossfire(Grand Slam son), Tank, H2, Idaho Spud(cross), Carpe Diem(pretty sure he is a cross not sure though). If you really want to cross it up Texas Hold em' has also had a track record of throwing hereford looking calves. Good Luck!

J3CattleCo has that Big Jake herf bull that isn't registered, but he's the real deal.

Purple Milsap sure does look the part as well.

Here's Big Jake again.  He is a Rawhide out of a Summit cow.  Rawhide has raised major champions throughout Texas in the lst 5 years out of a very limited number of calves.  Semen is available from the owners.

Some good ideas posted so far.  The best clubbie Hereford calves I've seen lately have been by Made Right, but his semen is getting higher ($100 last I heard) and harder to find.  Cottonmouth is the Made Right son that sold in Kris Black's sale last summer, and he sure looks promising.  That's what I'll be using on my Hereford cows this time.

Tiger Woods might work???

I've thought about that, too.  Johnny Walker Red will throw some Hereford marked ones I know.  Those bulls I might try on some for sure pb Hereford cows that were real well marked - it could be tough to get one that'd pass out of a juiced up cow.

I would try shotgun, sniper, full focus, cotton mouth, carpe diem, and possibly if you can get the semen to the sire of Big Jake.

Lots of good idea's being thrown around. One that was overlooked was FOCUS of Orrell herefords. Here's another thing to think about: The Shorthorn Bull Xray Vision has thrown some really fancy hereford"looking" one's over the years. Ask Mark Copus and Dustin Glover. They will verify that fact.Just food for thought.Of the newer bulls I like the results of Carpe Diem and that Cottonmouth bull ,in person,is awesome. Both are used on black cows also.

Big Jake's sire Rawhide is unavailable.  Mark Copus has loaded up trailer load's of cattle out of Big Jake's sire and gone on to win many a major in the last five years in Texas including Reserve at Fort Worth, Champion and Reserve San Antonio, Champion and Reserve at Houston, champion hereford at Fall classic and reserve overall breeds.  This has been done on 30 cows natural service only a year.  Rawhide is probably the winningest sire by percentage of any sire I know of including Heatwave.

Wide Angle throws some real nice calves. Click on the Answer ad and it will link you to several hereford bulls.

Full Focus is the name of the Orrell bull and he is mentioned on a previous post.  He works well.

Is Rawhide deceased or does the owner not want to release semen to the open market?

What about the bull ET BR Moler?

Cyrus and Baton Rouge are Moler sons that Trausch came out with this year, and I think Cyrus might sire some good steers, but I've seen a lot of Moler progeny that are just BIG, probably too big for steers, and they can get some structure issues off the rear wheels, but if you get a sound one, hold on!
