Is Rawhide deceased or does the owner not want to release semen to the open market?

The bull is alive, just off the market.

I have noticed that about several "hereford" bulls.  They just dont want to give up the good stuff.  It may come back to haunt them, if other breeders keep track of who will and wont sale semen.
That hereford deal looks like a tough one.

saw a cotton mouth in colby collins bid off that is selling this weekend.  There is a video of him on there website,  he is #10.  Has to be one of the best herfs sold this year.

One bull that hasn't been mentioned is Copeland's and Drager's JCS Showtime (Reg.# 42499748).  He is the sire of the Reserve Grand overall at Ft. Worth.  I think if you had crossed up calves, he might help the calves classify???  (Others on this board would know better than I would)
Anyone know the name of the bull on the homepage of the Collins Cattle Services website?

What ever happened to that HERF WAVE bull from a couple of years ago?
I have a Purple Tonic bull calf out of  Herf Wave x Double Stuff first calf heifer, that is 3 weeks old. Perfect hereford marked, could be the next clubby hereford promo bull( can't blame me for trying, right?) very nice calf.

If you're wanting a Pb Herf bull, you may want to google GH Col Patton. He's owned by Adams Hirsche Ranch in Alberta and Ok.and Bar JM Herefords in Ont.. He's moderate, excellent muscle expression and correct, super top and shape. They have semen on him and he is an excellent clubby choice. He'll be something different for you to bring new blood into the Clubby side of the business.

If your looking for clubby purebreds, I would go with Hard Drive, Grand Slam, and Cyrus might be some good choices. There is also Crossfire(Grand Slam son), Tank, H2, Idaho Spud(cross), Carpe Diem(pretty sure he is a cross not sure though). If you really want to cross it up Texas Hold em' has also had a track record of throwing hereford looking calves. Good Luck!
i worked for a guy last year who had a perfect hereford marked calf out of texas hold em and a black maine cow

Saw the first Big Jake calves while in Oklahoma this weekend and was more than impressed.  They are massive in their design!  Even out of below average cows they are sure enough stout.  I would not recommend him on heifers and he does calve a little heavier than your typical herf, but he does put way more bone and hip into them also.  We havent had any huge ones, but they do prolly average 90lbs.  Even out of questionably marked cows they are marked right.  We are going to bred some black cows to him this spring for baldie replacement females.

Rawhide is the most dominate sire ever.  He has sired champions at Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, The Fall Classic, Odessa you name he has done it in VERY FEW CALVES.  He is the best mature bull of any breed I have ever seen.  The owner WILL NOT sell semen, so we are all sitting around dreaming about getting some!!

If your looking to make clubby Hereford steers I would go with LaGrand Reload. His calves are really thick, and wide. I would not use him on smaller cows or first calf heifers tho. BR Moler is siring many winners and high sellers but hes over $500 per unit. Another bull that I wouldn't be afraid to try is Purple MB Womanizer. Hes a moderately framed, stout, wide bull that's first calves are coming now. Inferno and Milsap would work. The inferno's make great show cattle. Milsap's calves are topping sales all around the United States but haven't seen many in production yet. Milsap is out of Moler. Those are mainly the bulls we use to make steers along with Hard Drive.

Just had our first Paparazzi calf yesterday. She is out of a average cow. Came out right at the 90lb mark but was up nursing with in 15 minutes.

Idk if he breeds true to type, but i saw cyrus in Denver when i was there for the judging contest. He might be the best hereford ive ever seen, and in my opinion, he was the best bull in the yards
