I thought I would try to post some video links of Coalpit Creek Leader 6th (AKA "Easy"), some of his calves, and his 2 year old daughters and their calves that are sired by YY Duke of Earl 186Y who is the young bull in the video. Our cattle winter on grass hay, (this year we have some winter wheat hay also), salt and mineral. This includes the yearling replacement heifers as well as the 2 year old first calvers. The yearling bulls were additionally fed 6 lbs whole oats/day through February 10th. We scanned on Feb. 23rd so will have results soon.

We had 3 early calves this year, all bulls. Last March 27th, "Easy" lifted the gate off the hinges and spent the night with the girls. We had one born 12/30/12, one on 1/1/13, and one on the 5th of January. The rest started on the 20th like they were supposed to.

Thanks for the interest in this bull and our program.

My wife pointed out that I didn't get the link right for the 2013 calves that she wanted. We added some "roping calves in training" to the end of this one, and I had uploaded the one we hadn't finished. Here is the one she likes....

What strikes me about the two year old heifer video and the cows in the calf video is the uniformity of these females. The two year olds are very deep, smooth with beautiful udder development and the same thing is true of the cows. (thumbsup)

but where's the snow ???

Thanks Cabana S.I. and Dan. The calves in the video with the mature cows are all sired by Coalpit Creek Leader 6th. The calves in the 2  yr. old heifer video are sired by a son of YY Earl of Dover 118U named YY Duke of Earl 186Y. "Dukes" dam is a Dover Ranch female I purchased as a calf in 2007. Just a good solid cow with a good maternal wedge shape and perfect udder who quietly goes about her work.

I should mention that the #251A bull calf's dam came from Diamond Shorthorns in Alberta. I mentioned the name on the video, but it's not very clear. She is "Frimley Ultra Susan 43U. We are pleased with how she is working out.
