coarse thick hair what should i do?

ok my heifer has coarse and thicker hair wat can i do to help make it soft and easier to comb thru??

Use a conditioner on her everyday..refer to the Kleen Sheen/Vinegar thread in the Hall of Fame if you need to. That, and lots of combing with a skip-tooth might work.  We've had calves with hair so thick it's almost impossible to comb through no matter what.  Be glad it's not thin!

A super mix we use that is cheap and will relax your hair is Cholesteral. Go to a beauty supply place and you can get it in gallon containers. Looks like lard or crisco for younger folks. Scoop out a caouple of tablespoons and put in a spray bottle. Dilute with hot water. Spray on and brush in. It will soften and relax the hair. Every other day is sufficient but you need to walk it out as it will make it flaten out if not.

OHB, is there a shampoo or something that will cut that to get it out if they get too much in?    We had a problem with that last year.. it was like a permanent gunk spot for a few days. 

Ez all works well as a conditioner as well.

Thanks!  I'll remember that if it happens again.    One of the kids just started putting it on & got it worked way in & while it was ultimately good for the hair, it was a messy dirt magnet.

Yes, you can use kleen sheen everyday it will keep your hair healthy and shine while repelling dirt.

and once a week i use rag oil should i keep using this or just go to all kleen sheen?

Personal opinion, I would skip the plastic combs on her, we have found that for that type of hair they just aren't sturdy enough.  That type of hair is priceless, be thankful for it and just keep it well conditioned (we like Infusium leave in mixed with Kleen Sheen ) and you'll be fine, it's the same as with anything else, brush and blow over and over and over. 

we use aussie volumizing conditioner as well as double dip, kleen sheen, and pink oil/olive oil on a daily basis. i've found it better to use a massage brush aka scrubby to work hair with instead of a rice root brush.
