TJ, I bet that took a lot of doing ,did it leave a taste in your mouth? roni

I think the best example of how I feel is that it's kinda like family... it's one thing when you are fighting with your own family, but it's totally different when one of your family members is about to get into it with someone else.  ;)    As long as we aren't playing the Gators... I don't mind cheering for them a little bit.

I don't care for Urban Meyer & I didn't care for Spurrier.  But, I actually do have great respect for Tim Tebow (although he is kind of a showboat at times) & I like the SEC in general.

Now, if it were Tennessee that we were talking about no way could I ever say or sing R_C_Y  T_P.  And as long as Petrino is at Arkansas, I can't root for them either, but their fans are OK.  South Carolina is another that I am not too fond of... don't care for their fans nor their coach.  Those teams would have to be playing Notre Dame or somebody like that before I could root for them.

We will see on Jan 8 & if I am wrong, I will gladly admit that I was wrong.  Until then, I think that Oklahoma is going to be... Gator Bait!

i am sitting here watching the 2008 capital one bowl between florida and michigan and michigan won that game because of defensive pressure. they were blitzing almost constantly and michigan's d-line was supposed to be so slow but they won the game by putting pressure on tim tebow who cracked under that pressure.

Florida was also coming off a National Championship season & more importantly, Tebow had been hurt in the weeks leading up to that game.   Tebow running the ball is an important part of Florida's offense.  Call me crazy, but I think they mailed in the 2008 Capital One Bowl, especially once they got behind.   Regardless, 2008 Florida is MUCH better & is MUCH faster than 2007 Florida.  Did I say MUCH better & MUCH faster?  Also, there is a HUGE difference between playing in a Capital One Bowl & playing for a national title.

Bradford beating Tebow for the Heisman was the final nail in Oklahoma's coffin, IMHO.  Florida & Tebow, will be mad & ready to destroy OU.  They wont just settle for beating them, they are going to try to run the score up on them.  Oklahoma's only chance, IMHO, is if Percy Harvin is less than 100%.  And even if he is, I don't think they have much of a shot.  Tim Tebow is the best player in the country, he now has a chip on his shoulder, & OU is going to have a hard time stopping him (unless he gets hurt).

And just so that everyone knows, I had an Alabama fan buddy of mine who went to watch the SEC Championship game expecting his team to win.  Before that game, I emailed & told him that he was going to be awfully disappointed.  Bama was a great team, but Florida is the real deal.

I'm not a Florida fan, I'm just calling it like I see it.  I think it may be a 40 or 50 something to 20 something game.

I might be wrong & I'll gladly admit that I was.  We will see.      ;)

What is going to hurt OU is that Murrary is out and Big Game Bob Stoops hasn't been as of late in bowl games.  I still think OU wins it slightly.  I just think too many points on the board.  They also have a very good oline with probably at least 2 first rounders as well as a stud tight end, and a pair of good receivers.

Will see, tebow does scare me a bit, and harvin scares me a lot.  But, Ou was able to keep Maclin in check.

BTW, I would love for Matt Stafford to be a Kansas City Chief.

I really didn't think I could ever root fot the Gators but when it came down to gametime I did root for them against Ohio State ( or should I say I rooted for the SEC). Florida's team speed is just unreal. Speed came make up for a lot of mistakes. When I saw about 10 mins of the Florida/Ohio State game I knew the speed wasn't even close. I think they have more team speed now than they did then. I'm sure I won't cry if Florida gets beat but I don't see it happening. Did I say they are fast.......................!

With OU losing players that is going to hurt not only losing Murry but Granger a def lineman they won't be able to rotate them as much. Pat Jones even remarked about FU's speed and a real consern for OU. We'll just have to wait and see if ol Stoops can get them fired up enough for the game. Roni

My thought is the BCS Champion will all depend on what OU team takes the field.  Will it be the team of the regular saeson, or the "played out" bowl team of the past few years?  The Sooners have the better team in all areas except special teams.  I don't think that gives Florida anywhere near enough to win the game.  Team Speed? The gators aren't any faster or quicker than Mizzu, O-State or TTech.

Just like in the OU/Texas game, the only thing that's going to beat OU this year is OU.  In my ESPN Fantasy Bowl picks I have OU by 7, but my confidence rating is only 9 out of 34.  I just hope the real Sooners are the team to face the Gators on game day.

If it's anything like UO's last bowl games it will come down to holding calls.  Will the refs look the other way like the Big 12 refs and let Bradford sling it around or will they actually call a few like they have the past few years.

BTW, Mack Brown sat Colt McCoy in the middle of the 3rd quarter in the game against the Aggies. Mack has Class, Stoops is a complete ass.

I agree 100%  like in 03 he ran his players out onto the field while the KSU band was still playing.  They ran over our band and knocked some of them down.  I lost ALL respect for the OU program when they did that.  And then the OU fans were Booing the band.  Come on it is the band.  One of my best friends is a Texas fan, and I always gave him heck about his fans being the worse, after I got home from that game I had to call and apologise to him.  Now saying that I know not all OU fans are that bad, but that day in KC, there wernt many of them that I had ANY respect for.  I have many many more stories about the OU fans that day, but I can not share them on this board.  OK off my soap box.

Okay, I gotta get in this too.  OU is gator bait!  We all know Texas should be playing instead but that's alright because next year they'll have they're year.  I am so sick of hearing about OU's offense.  If Texas or Tech would have run up the score like OU, everyone would have had a fit about them showboating and beating up on opponents.  Don't tell me OU is better than Texas, we all know who won that game, and besides, how many 4th quarters has McCoy played?  Hardly any.  Texas was so confident that they played their second string  and still won.  That's called good sportsmanship, something that OU doesn't know how to exhibit.  I hope they get stomped by Florida.

I also think that the Spartans will beat Georgia.  Go State!

any players not respecting the marching band is just plain pathetic and unsportsmanlike. when i was at the osu michigan game this year, the michigan kickers and and punter came out while ohio state's band was still performing at halftime. they partly walked through the performance and tried to kick some field goals but the net wasn't up so the first ball went into the stands and the fans started booing the kickers and throwing the ball farther and farther away from the field. i found this hilarious and when they continued to try and kick more the crowd was booing them everytime they made one and cheered when they missed.

i have noticed how certain coaches have a lot of class. jim tressel and mack brown have class. i am looking forward to a good game between colt mccoy and james laurinaitis.

Just watched our Vandy Commodores beat Boston College. Great to see it for Vandy. 1st bowl appearance since 1982, 1st bowl win since 1955. They had ZERO penalties & Zero turnovers. They only had 1 senior on defense & used a freshman redshirt quarterback(for most of the game). Glad for a nerdy academic school to finally get one. <party> <party>

Very impressive showing by Vandy. Really highlighted BC's flaws.  (thumbsup)
